I have no idea what I'm doing...

I've bought EVGA Geforce GTX 660 recently and I opened up my computer and shoved the card into the pci slot ...
then I've noticed that there was a 6-pin thingy place for I guess supplemental power supply..? (from reading the instructions)
but I have nothing left to stick it in. The box from the graphics card did give me pci-e? (is this what you call it?) where it has 6pin that you can connect it with the card at one end and 2 of straight aligned cord? thingys at the other end and I'm confused because there is absolutely no other free cord to put in at all... Does this mean that I have no supplemental power supply for my card or am I just new to this and stupid to not find anything
someone please help before I return this :'(

yea if you have two free molex to connect to it should work, granted there is enough wattage and amperage on the 12v rail of your psu. generally the pre builts have weaker power units, try it out , otherwise u may need to replace the psu as well
you need to find an extra cable from your POWER SUPPLY unit and connect it to the GPU's 6 pin slot. If you can't find one you may need to buy an extra cable for the PSU (a splitter if non modular). What is the computer. or what is the power supply brand and model/wattage

Thanks for your help! I'll look into power supply extention cords. But there are 2 split ends for the 6pin to power supply cord that I got with the graphics card, do I NEED to connect both of them? I only see one ended power supply extension cord out in the market.

Um okay I don't know how to look into wattage but here's what I know: It's HP p7-1287c and my processor(?) is Intel Core i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10GHz (though I have no idea what this mean). I opened.up my computer and saw that power supply is covered up with some metal thing, meaning that I don't have access to put in any additional power cable. Is it better to just buy another graphics card that doesn't need additional power supply or am I missing something..?
