1. Opinions? Is it great?
2. Will out-dated 7-year old components such as old ddr2 667mhz memory and cpu work on it?
3. Does it support i7 / i5 cpu's?
4. Does it support quad channel memory?
5. Does it support 2ghz+ rams? What's the max ram speed and amount that it supports?

1.It's a great board.
2.not work,only support LGA1150 intel cpu and DDR3 RAM.
3.support 4th i7 / i5 cpu,but not support 5th i7 / i5 cpu (I would go Z97,Z97 G45 Gaming support 5th intel cpu)(Z87 not support 5th intel cpu)
4.no,only support dual channel,if you want quad channel,maybe you need more and more budget.

If you have 150 budget, I would go MSI Z97 gaming 5,more feature ,support 5th intel cpu ,much cheaper than z87-g45 and support max ram speed 3300MHz.
