Cooler Master retention plate will not reach the stand off screws

The screws from the retention plate just barely hover above the stand off locations.
When I try to touch one to the stand off the others rise too high to deal with.

These screws need to be done in a cross fashion. The first screw should barely be threaded into the stand off, then the same for it's opposite. The springs on the screws will give as you bring the opposite side down. Now if you notice that the springs are fully compressed then you have a problem.

Right, but I cannot touch two sides down at the same time. If I just barely touch one side down the other side is too high off of the stand off
