LSI tells me that their LSI MegaRAID and 3ware controllers (9265-8i & 9271-8iCC) are limited to 3TB drives. Those are the maximum size listed in their test data on compatible drives. This may be tests done before 4, 5, & 6TB drives were available not not repeated on their older controllers when they did come on the market. I don't know.
My question is, has anyone been successful in building a RAID on one of these controller cards using drives larger than 3TB.
