I am looking to buy a 128gb USB Flash Drive to keep programs, games and music on. But I see there is all different kinds of speeds and factors to them, as well as USB 2.0 vs USB 3.0 compatible, which is probably a no brain er. I have no idea how to tell one from the other, I tried looking up benchmarks but I couldn't find any from 2014-current, so if anyone knows much about them and can recommend a good speedy one to me I'd be appreciative. My budget is about 35 bucks for this, its a novelty not a necessity.

Many thanks in advance.

Hey mattangle. As you said, the 2.0 USB vs 3.0 USB is a no-brainer. There are a lot of flash drives out there on the market, just read some of the reviews of the people that have already tried them. I wouldn't go with the benchmark info as a primary thing to look for. Most of the 3.0 USB flash drives have speed which will be affected by the read/write speed of your hard drive. You should use it with a 10 000RPM HDD or an SSD if you want to get the full speed of 3.0 USB flash drive. My suggestion is that you pay more attention to the quality rather than the benchmark figures of a flash drive and select the one 3.0 USB flash drive, which fits your budget and personal preferences.

Hope that helps.
