Debating whether to Buy a GTX 970 or SLI my 680's

Since early June, i have had a GTX 680 Classified from EVGA (4gb ram, larger heatsink, and higher boost clock) and so far have had no issues. But some more modern games such as Watchdogs and Crysis 3 playing at the highest setting is what I like to have but only getting around 49FPS in Watch_Dogs and 32 In Crysis 3 is something I don't like.

On forums and benchmarks, Battlefield 4 on the Highest possible settings says I should get 45 ish FPS but on all the maps I can get around 70 Average. Not sure if that is strange or not.

I am thinking it is cheaper just to have 2 GTX 680's in sli since they get almost the same performance and since there is 4gb of ram, it will work roughly the same. But since that card is rare to find, even just a 4gb EVGA SC version still is about the same price as a 970. I got the card for 200 which was very low at the time, and seeing myself pay 350 or so for the same card seems a little excessive.

I'm playing off of a 1080p monitor 60hz but want to have some extra performance for Fraps recording or future upgrade to 1440p.

So my main question:

Should I sell my GTX 680 4gb card for what it goes on ebay and almost have enough for a GTX 970 and when christmas comes, use any money to buy a 2nd 970. Or should I just upgrade to a 2nd GTX 680 4gb and keep it? The 970 has a decent upgrade potential but if i can find someone off ebay or here selling a gtx 680 classified for 250 or so, I'll take it. I won't be upgrading my hardware for probably 4 years but would rather spend 250 + shipping than haft to sell it on ebay for hopefully around 300 and later buy a second one, which will cost around 400 after everything.

I'll take any suggestions and if you think it will be better to have the upgraded components, then give me places where it would be best to sell the gtx 680 Classified. I'm just trying to get the best deal for the least amount of money. If I need to, I can get AMD cards.

My Build:
i7-4770k @ 4.2 ghz (H100i)
2x4gb g.skill ripjaws 1866mhz (@ 2133mhz)
250 gb samsung evo
GTX 680 Classified (Very slight OC but not much)
Corsair tx850m
Corsair air 540 (all stock fans)
