ASUS r9 270 direct CU OC

i recently purchased a good quality HDMI cable to run from from the GPU to my 40 inch toshiba.the picture is GREAT high def defo BUT no sound.i went to the control panel and clicked audio devices and the TV was listed but when i set it to default no sound.im useing a gigabyte sniper M5 miro atx mobo nd the microlab speakers i have plugged into work fine i just would like to know why sound is not coming out of the TV speakers

Reinstall your sound drivers from the manufacturer's website.

After that check your windows updates and update.
Restart your PC.
Plug in the HDMI to the TV and set it to the default playback device.

Did it work? I've done this successfully on my PC before, if it didn't help hopefully other fixes will get posted.

I have done as you suggested look its the catalyst control center telling me that my tv is not suitable. Guess the 270 r9 drivers cant send audio only picture.the mobo brilliant i must say.i have asked ASUS giving the my whole set up what they think and will post what they have to say when i get a reply
