Could not find driver for network

So I have just built my own pc for the first time and have installed windows 7 however when I plugged my Ethernet cable in to connect to the Internet it is not connecting to a network or identifying one. It is saying 'windows could not find a driver for your network adapter' .

What do I need to do please?

Your motherboard should of came with a cd with the drivers (chipset, LAN, audio, etc) on it. You can also go to the motherboard manufacturer's website and get the drivers, put them on a flash drive, and install them that way.
