256GB SSD only for Gaming (pretty much only) Windows 8.1 system?

I will be using this PC for pretty much only web surfing and gaming. It will have Windows 8.1 installed as the OS. Would a 256GB Samsung 850 PRO be enough storage to use as the only HD?

I'm not a power gamer and don't generally have more than 3-4 games going at a time and uninstall a game when I'm done with it. Probably no more than 1-2 of these games would be big AAA games.

Also, how dramatic is the difference in real world gaming between going with the 850 PRO and something like a 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black HD?

While it depends on what games you plan on installing, most gaming machines can get by with that amount of storage. You'll just have to be careful about storing video files, replays, etc. as those take up space quickly.

If it gets too full you can always uninstall some games and reinstall them later if you want to play them again.

An SSD may not help your fps while in game but I wouldn't call it worthless. There has been many times when I am glad I have my games loaded on an SSD because of load times. In multiplayer games, loading maps etc... If you play skyrim or any other large RPG/MMO games that initial load time gets old real fast.

With the prices of SSDs coming down all the time I personally would say go for it. 256GB should be enough space for what you are wanting to do and if in a year or two you feel you need more space, prices will have dropped even more.

I'm not seeing the issue here. Did you or did you not state "for games SSD is waste of money." ?

In any case....OP...if a 256SSD is large enough for your usage, get it.
