Hey guys, I'm a bit of a newb, so please bare with me.
I need help building a PC that will primarily be used for editing home videos and burning them to bluray. I need to stay within the 500 to 600 dollar range. Fine with either AMD or Intel. Leaning more towards AMD due to budget constraints. Will be reusing bluray burner and sata HD 1TB. Might throw in solid state HD if price allows.

Also, Video editing: Bit new to this, I've been using Windows movie maker for the last few years with my DVcam, but received a JVC GZ-EX210BU HDcam. Been using Roxio creator and saving to bluray, but this process takes a day to finalize and a day to burn. Plus, I've been having issues with no audio when playing through PLEX or Roku across the network. Please, any suggestions on software, that has the ease-of-use factor. Video camera outputs AVCHD files, which become quite large.

There is NO AMD equivalent as the 4790K is THE best CPU you can get in your price range. The best AMD CPU that can even come to two-thirds of its performance is the FX-9590, but that costs about the same and it outputs much more heat. I would strongly suggest you stay away from it.
Something like this would have the best performance:

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($249.99 @ Micro Center)

Case: Thermaltake VL80001W2Z ATX Mid Tower Case ($24.99 @ Micro Center)
