Dear freaks and geeks,

Lately I've been having a lot of screen tearing in every game I play and I even have it when I scroll down a document in Word! Is there a way to fix this? It mostly happens in the middle of my screen... I haven't messed with any settings. Could my monitor be going out? This is an ASUS 23inch 60hz screen.

CASE: Rosewill Challenger (3 Rosewill Case Fans @ 75CFM)
CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K Haswell OC @ 4.0GHz with Noctua NH-D14
MOBO: ASRock Z87 Extreme4
GPU: EVGA GTX 760 SC (2GB)
RAM: 4 x G.Skill 2GB DRR3 1333mhz (PC3 10600)
HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F3 500GB 7200RPM 16Mb 3GB/s
PSU: OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W
MONITOR: VS238H-P Black 23" 2ms @ 1080p 60hz

I do not have another monitor to test it on. I got rid of my screen tearing in BF4 by using 65fps. If I go any higher, I get screen tearing. I also turned off v-sync in every game since it causes input lag. And I also use DVI instead of HDMI.

the GPU driver is up to date? if the tearing only started recently (until we rule the monitor out) i would say the GPU might be going. i doubt you want to re install windows but thats another way to easily rule out software vs hardware. the good news is, if the GPU is in fact dying the EVGA support is wonderful and they will def take care of it for you.

make sure windows is set to display 60 hz and not some other setting

v sync will run at the monitors native refresh rate anyways, i use v sync and have no issues with my 60 hz 1080p HDTV
