that's pretty awesome. have you seen newegg's shell shocker today? $340 for the 4690k, msi z87 gaming mobo and 8 gb ram. that's almost $100 off the combo.

Unfortunately I already bought one, so I didn't get this deal but thought since most decent black fri deals had passed there are still some people hoping to put together a build for xmas. I started to post in the black fri deals but it's not really a black fri deal and people might miss it there. I don't think there's another sales thread. Hopefully it helps someone out who's on a budget or missed out on previous sales.

If it helps any, it's applicable to amd cpu's too darkbreeze lol. The $20 off visa checkout instant savings and $20 mail in rebate at tiger aren't product specific - they're good on orders over $120, so anything $120 or over people can save $40 on.

That is a nice deal. But I am not going to bother with it since I already have an i5-4670k.

I probably will not upgrade until sometime after Cannonlake is released.

I don't blame you jaguarskx, I wouldn't upgrade either if I had the 4670k. I've been riding on the e8400 for the past 5-6yrs or so. Just so happened by the time I had upgrade funds the 4690k was out. I've been wanting an upgrade since the i5 2500k was out lmao.

Cannonlake is a 10nm huh? Nice and cool. Probably still not much performance gain though. Sigh.

Someday there'll be stock 5Ghz chips with 85w TDP, I just know it. Sigh.
