well i am wondering this after the fact of ordering my new computer but which would be better? 2133MHz 15CAS DDR4 or 1866MHz 7CAS DDR3?
and yes i know i will have to get a diffenret CPU for each one as they are not compatiable in the boards nor with a same CPU memory controller.

Solution
DDR4 is currently primarily being made to JEDEC specs which were outdated before they were even released - DDR4 specs go back to when they were planned to extend from DDR3 (remember DDR3 originally wasn't planned to go over 1600 and while they finally did get specs out for 1866 and 2133 ir was long after those sticks had already been available - the DRAM manufacturers took it upon themselves to design DRAM that has gone welll in excess of JEDEC specs with 3200 sticks available out their - currently 1866/9 will outperform the DDR4 2133/15 in a 2011(DDR3) vs 2011 V3 (DDR4) config

Definitely go with the DDR3 1866MHz memory or a 2400 with 10 or 9 CAS if you need the speed. The CAS on the DDR4 is way higher for such a little frequency boost. Also DDR4 is way more expensive then DDR3. If you can afford it and need X99 I would find a different ram with a lower CAS. Try to find low CAS and high frequency RAM for best performance.

So i should have went with the DDR3 build ... good to know and thankfully i did that with the first home server now to see if that one is enough for the house or if another one is going to be needed.
