if you jump on this in the next few hours, this is an awesome deal on an i5-4690k, msi z87 gaming mobo and 8 gb ram for $340 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.2086364

basically the ram is free + $10 at a $90 savings. the mobo is equivalent to the msi z97 gaming 5 minus the m2 slot so it is still solid for oc and such.

the rest of the build can be whatever gpu and such is already in your mind but this part is almost too good to pass on. i know the ram is only 1 stick but you can add an identical one and still be below normal price. so 16 gb for price of less than 8.

CPU:
Intel I5 for gaming would be enough.
MOTHERBOARD:
MSI Z97S SLI Plus,Tier Two board,High end. Great MoBos, SLI capable with good enough thermals and power to take up any CPU, not the best for extreme OCing but do OC very well. Have many premium features as well. Quality is good, no known persistent issues.Motherboard tier list: Z97 chipsetWould be best in your budget.
PSU:
Antec High Current Gamer 620W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
Tier Two Class A powersupply.Excellent quality units, if not, as good as the Tier one class of units. For people who have a limited budget, but still want a reliable unit for the price

keep in mind with sales and such. check the day you want to buy and some of these parts may change. psu and such will vary. today is a crazy sale for the 750w, tomorrow 600 watt will be on sale. even used some 850 watt ones when they were crazy low the day i bought. these are all guidelines and need to be re-checked on buying day :)

this i know, but am just offering options. if oc is on his mind, this one does it. if not, what you did is obviously the choice. custom is just that, designed for the person who will use it. all we can do is help him explore what the options are. that and i just like playing with the part picker :D

Oops I just confused a lot of people, what I meant was when he said "Parts haven't been updated in 5 months" I told him that my budget increased 200 dollars from 500-700 because I made a thread like this before, and 500 was my original budget is what I meant. I didn't mean from 700-900, sorry for the confusion guys! I should've worded it better!
