I am really nervous, I know I can do it because I have taken apart a laptop and put it back together successfully so I know how to handle these things but I'd be fine with the basics, its the wiring I am scared of like the front panel connectors and maybe forgetting some wiring. I am also scared of ESD. Can I attach the anti static wrist strap clip to a metal allen key or a screw?

Can someone please summarise the key things to plug the PSU into. Motherboard, CPU, GPU and HDD's etc. Plus what Pins

Thanks

The psu needs to plug into the motherboard in two places. The 4/8 pin cpu header (near the cpu socket) - newer motherboards are usually 8 pin. The the 20/24 pin socket near the edge of the board near the outermost ram slots or near the sata internal headers along the right side of the motherboard (if looking at it head on in an upright position).

Hard drives, ssd (if applicable), make sure cpu fan is plugged into motherboard cpu fan header (near cpu socket), graphics card - depends on the card, some are 6 pin, some are 8 pin, some have dual connectors.

Front panel header cables for power switch, reset, hdd activity light, front usb, front audio etc plug into various places usually along the bottom edge of the motherboard. Read the...
To prevent ESD, you can either wear an anti-static band and clip it to anything metal or steel really, or if you simply touch the steel case every minute or so and don't wear socks or staticy clothing you're more than fine. New builders often worry too much about ESD (as I did), just take the small precautions of touching the steel case or wearing the band. Tomshardware has a great step-by-step build tutorial in the Systems forum: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/274745-31-step-step-guide-building

As said above the case it naturally grounded if you touch it occasional or make sure your arm is pressing against it while working on it you'll be fine, having bare feet is a good idea too as you ground yourself to the floor.

Flip-flops is a good idea also rather than carpet.

Depends on your flooring then I guess, I normally build mine on top of a tiled floor :p

Read the manual that comes with the motherboard to see where to plug each into. The most difficult are the front panel headers because the connectors are the smallest (smaller than fan connectors) and trying to read the id's printed on the pcb of the motherboard near each little group of pins can be a royal pain.
