Hi All,

After many years i decided to put a pc together because i want to play Microsoft flight simulator, games like Far Cry 4 and also do some light photo/ video editing for personal use. here is what i have put together

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/GKryyc

i am looking for a decent configuration pc good for few years. please advise.

Solution
I would actually do something like this, which would put 250$ back into your pocket to buy games like BF4 or AC:U:

Yup. That'll do it all right. Unless you feel you need bluray I would suggest cutting back on that, which is my personal preference. Maybe go to a local electronics store and grab an optical drive for $5? That is if you'll only be using it to install windows as I do. But this build should have no problem for the foreseeable future for really anything you want it to do, and it would be a shame to call it a "decent" system.

Thanks for the reply. one more thing i forgot to mention was that i will connect it to my TV and to my desktop monitor. both will be 1080p (i have yet to buy the monitor). i will buy a 4k 80 inch TV when the second generation 4K sets come out (little cheaper and better) i don't know how far it is in future but that definitely will happen, so at that time will this set up be ok or will i have to change the two SLI 970 cards and if so, shall i go with a better motherboard? i am not sure if two 970 will still be ok for that set up. any pointers on that one.

You shouldn't have a problem doing that with this rig, here is the article I looked at: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1838004 . So if it happens to not work (though I seriously doubt that will be the case, SLI 970s is a lot of power) you can always throw in a third 970 and have a monster of a machine. If you do decide to throw in that extra card then this motherboard should be able to support it, and a tri 970 setup will be just as good as a sli 980 for less money. I'm quite jealous of the setup you have dreamed up here.

Windows 8.1 (which is the one you want unless you have a touch screen) took a bit of tweaking to get it the way that I like it, but I'm really happy with it after making the upgrade from windows 7. I would say go with 8.1. As for a wireless mouse? I don't know that much, so here's an article for you! http://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-wireless-mouse/
