I've had my 1 TB hard drive for three years now and its getting sluggish. I'm a gamer, learning programmer, and power user, and I'm wondering how I should transfer my data. I bought a new 1TB WD Black hard drive for media/documents, etc. and a 250 GB Samsung SSD for OS and program files, if possible. This really pertains to Windows 7 as well as storage. Is there a way to copy Windows 7 OS files and some program files to the SSD (i.e. popular programs, games, etc.) and move my lesser used programs to the HDD along with my music, movies, photos, etc. and Windows still function without doing a vanilla install from the Windows 7 Disc I own? This is a custom build. Thanks for the help in advance!

I would just install your WD black in addition to your current HDD and transfer any files you want on the WD Black to the WD Black, then migrate any other files including the OS to the ssd. I know there are migrating softwares out there, but unfortunately I'm not all that well read on the topic so here's a link that I think should help you out: http://lifehacker.com/5837543/how-to-migrate-to-a-solid-state-drive-without-reinstalling-windows
Best of luck and congratulations on the upgrade!
