hi,

i've recently built a new pc and my main components are:

Asus Z97-PRO(Wi-Fi ac)
Kingston HyperX Fury DDR3-1866MHz 2x4GB
Intel Core i5-4690k

i've installed my memories in the first and thirds slots (the black ones).

when i tried to boot the pc the board gave me an error 55 "memory not installed". then, i tried to move the memories to other slots and it either starts and reboots or it gives me the error 55.

the only way i can start the PC is just using the last two slots (with 1 or two sticks)

the other thing i've noticed is that windows task manager only detects 1300mhz clocks.

what can it be? i would like to believe that i've done something wrong and i don't have to send my board to repair.

thanks

Solution
First, I would clear CMOS (remove battery or use jumper).

Proper installation of 2 memory modules in this board is only to the grey slots (A2 and B2, refer to your mobo manual).

You should go to your BIOS and activate XMP memory profile, it should then work in 1866MHz mode. BIOS upgrade might also be required if your BIOS is too old.
