Looking for a good video recorder that doesn't make large file vids

Looking for a good video recorder that doesn't make large file vids. I will not use it for games, I will use it for our project in school. I am using fraps but it makes large files after recording.

  1. I recommend Bandicam. Use the Xvid codec and set everything to max. File sizes should be about 200MB per second at 1080p. It can also record desktop mode which comes in handy. And it's also free, although you will have a watermark and 10 minute record limit.
  2. MSI afterburners built in one is pretty good - you can get pretty much fraps quality at 1/4 the file size if you play around with the encoding settings a bit.

We will use it at least 30 mins, can bandicam do it?

If you buy it, you can record for as long as you want. If you want freeware, then as said above download MSI Afterburner. It is a little bit more complicated but check out some tutorials and guides and you should be set :)
