Hi I am going to update my old old GPU (gtx 260 OEM) and I'd appreciate an expert opinion about my options.

1. Sapphire R9 270x OC DualX (186$)
2. Sapphire R9 280 OC DualX (224$)

I am not sure if the difference of performance between these two pays of the difference in the price, acording with my specs (i7 860 / 8GB ram / msi 7613 indio / 600W PSU ).

Thank you very much.

PS: I know a GTX 760 would be great too but it's out of my budget here in Spain.

Solution
Go with the 280. More ram and more powerful. It also overclocks better if you ever decide to overclock the card. ;) You can overclock the r9 280 to match the stock performance of a standard 280x/GTX770.

what CPU are u using because u might Bottleneck that R9 280 which is basically as 7950 rebrand

i have a 7950 and i can say it is a very strong card also the 3gb of ram will come in handy

but it also depends on your CPU

If you can afford it, go with the 280. The 270x is not a bad gpu, definetly better than the ps4, but with the 280 you can start to play at nice frames in aaa games. Dont even consider the 760, is worst than the 270x.

If you're on low budget and not planning to run games on 1440p+ with ultra graphics a R9 270X would be fine.. My AMD HD 7750 was able to run Battlefield 4 at 1080p with HIGH graphics so I don't think you'll have a problem..
BTW, If you look around you can find used R9 280X cards for less than a new R9 270X.. Its the best performance per dollar in my opinion. Good luck
