I can't get past bios screen

I have an Asus Z97-A and would like to only use one HDD.

I currently have a C: drive and an E: drive installed.

I have windows 7 installed on the C: and the E: drive but I only want to use the E: drive as the C: drive is dying and only works about 50% of the time.

when I only have the E: drive plugged in it always goes directly the BIOS screen. How do I only have my E: drive installed and pass the BIOS screen? It only works when the C: drive is installed also, so this means my pc will only get to windows 50% of the time.

Please help

because your c drive is the os one and 1 boot device you have to transfer all the files to e drive and use it as main drive dont forget to remove the actual c drive before the system reboot .

then unplug the old c drive and put the e in the 1 sata port connector on board.

sata 1 is first sata or it have sata 0 on board system should change letter by itself and check bios how it is detect as boot first or not .

Do I need to change E: to C:?

How do I do that and and will everything still work correctly if I do that?

if you still have the same os on c and one on e then they will conflict so unplug old c drive and plug the e drive to the first sata port on the motherboard then boot it should go all the way .

i would suggest to reformat the e drive and made a exact copy of c to d using hdd free software to copy them this way you will have a exact copy of you old c drive to the new e and could switch it to be c drive . that the way i made when i got my new hdd lately and work great .
