Since XP is no longer supported, I want to upgrade to Win7 on my Sony SR390 laptop. I thought it might be a good time to migrate from HDD to SSD (using a larger capacity) at the same time. What is the best sequence of events to perform this upgrade and what software will I need to assist in this migration? Thank you. HL

That laptop is ancient, only supports a max of 4gb of RAM, and has an old slow 2 core processor.

I would say toss it and get a new laptop, but if you are persistent you can upgrade it. You can install an SSD on it and W7.
After installing W7 go here for the drivers for the machine:
