I have the i7 2600k, and I am thinking of upgrading it, because I've been told the new haswell CPUs are better. Is it worth it to go with the 4790k or something? I generally game, record the game, livestream, edit videos, etc. So would upgrading be worth it. The 2600k is over clocked to 4.3Ghz.

Solution
Those Sandy Bridge processors overclocked really well. At this stage I wouldn't upgrade, the incremental benefits aren't that much and you'll need to factor in the cost of a new motherboard as well.

I've still got the i5-2500K running in one of my computers and I see no need to go and upset that particular apple cart.

Wait and see what shakes out with Skylake or Broadwell in 1H15 before you consider any upgrades. At least that's my recommendation.

I don't think it'll be worth it at all. The Sandy and Ivy Bridge CPUs are still near the top of the list for gaming and editing.

Wait about 12 months until the Skylake processors come out. Those are the ones that look to be the next big step forward. The Broadwell CPUs coming out early next year are shaping up to be a dud.
