I bought parts for a really nice gaming PC I put it all together and made sure that I used an anti-static wrist strap while I installed all the hardware, I burned the windows 8 image onto a DVD and configured everything in the BIOS. Now every time I try to make a partition on the SSD I get an error message that says an error happened and the pc needs to restart. Not sure what to do, hope you guys can help.

Here's the system specs:
GIGABYTE 970A-UD3P Motherboard
AMD FX 8350 Black Ed. 8 Core CPU
G. Skill 16 GB (2x 8 GB) DDR3 1600 Aeries series
EVGA NVIDIA GTX 970 Superclocked Ed.
Rosewill ARC-M 650 Watts Modular PSU
3 1TB Seagate Barracuda HDD
1 250 GB SanDisk SSD
All in an NZXT Phantom Case (which is super cool if you were wondering)

SSD stands for Solid State Drive. You can't create a partition on a SSD, only on a HDD.
Is suggest you to make a partition on the Seagate Barracuda HDD instead.

Yes, I did know that SSD stood for Solid State Drive. Solid State Drives can have windows partitions installed on them, there are plenty of Laptops and Desktops that use SSD's for using windows on, it's done all the time, I just don't know how to do it.

That is all kinds of incorrect and irrelevant.

The system DVD booted up normally and everything ran fine until I chose a disk to install windows on, when I chose the SSD an error message displayed (I can't remember the wording or the error code, unfortunately) A light blue screen would then show with some white icons and then system reboot. I ended up using my HDD's because I didn't have enough SATA cables to connect the optical Drive, all 3 of my HDD and my SDD. So since my SDD wasn't working at the time I just decided to not use it. Not sure what happened to it after that. I think it would have worked if I installed the SATA drivers for the motherboard during the windows installation, but since I moved on I never got to see if that would have fixed the problem.

Sorry I never got back to you. Got busy with holidays and all that stuff.

Have you looked at the BIOS? AHCI mode needs to be enabled, also some other things too.

Thanks for the reply, but it's kind of a dead thread now since I already installed windows 8 on the HDD and the system is working fine.
