Okay so I got a Dell customized PC I bought from someone on craigslist. Came with some pre-picked parts he chose himself. The mobo it came with is the "0gdg8y" which supports the LGA 1155 socket.

Question I have is, will it support ALL LGA 1155 CPU's? My current processor is the I3 2120. I am wanting to make an upgrade to the I5 3570, which is also a LGA 1155. But I am just not sure if the socket just needs to be the same, or if there is more to CPU's and Motherboards other than just matching sockets?

Hope someone here can answer my question. Thanks

Solution
It should support all LGA 1155, but you need to make sure with Dell. You might need a BIOS update to support the gen3 intel cpu's, you should visit the dell website and check with their support.
