So i chose an i3 4130 over an i5 2400 because i bought mobo plus cpu fresh new off the box for 10 euros cheaper with 2 years warranty instead buying the used i5 and mobo with no warranty and scared of getting put over cus still they worth some decent money and i wanted to be 100% sure giving that money.

And from vids i saw and everything they realy do the same fps in bf4, atleast in my eyes.

My rig is i3 4130, 4gb ram and a gtx 650 1gb gddr5 and i play on medium settings at 1280x1024 resolution!

From the vids i was watching the i3 4130 performs just as it is in my PC and on the video the guy with a better gpu does ultra on 80 fps, but back to my case i've got allot of fps drops and stutters. I think it's because having 4 gb of ram and always after 5 mins of gameplay over 3 gb are used of 3.9. I bet 8 gb is gonna solve my thing as bf4 currently runs at around 75-85 fps avg, except the 2 most intense maps where it goes at around 65-75 fps, but the drops and stutters are annoying.

So for 5 fps more for me the used i5 was not worth honestly when i get a new off the box cpu and mobo with 2 yrs warranty, maybe i'm wrong here but thats how i'l get it and think on it cus i like new products much more than used ones.

My friend with a weaker i3 the 3220 had much more constant fps but was with 8 gigs of ram. I've seen bf4 wants 8 gigs sure yea but at me it uses around 3-3.6 of 3.9, or even that tells me i should upgrade to 8 ?

Will 8 gigs solve everything right ? Thanks ahead!

Solution
RAM frequency can also play a part in minimum FPS. Not sure what mobo you have, but you should at least get a good DDR3-1600 8GB kit to reduce any possible drops and stutters caused by RAM.

Hey there, thanks on the answer. I've got an asus H81M-K so il just get a second 4 gb stick of ddr3 1333 mhz as mine is now so they match. And i don't think 1333 to 1600 mhz will be allot of difference honestly.

Yea i know, but the SIZE ? Around 3 to 3.5 gb of my 3.9 are used only for bf4 when on so i guess it's asking me for more ram right ? I'm getting the ram soon tho!
