Lost My Windows 7 CD Do I need to buy another.

Alright I let my buddy use my windows 7 cd to reinstall windows awhile back. Anyways he moved before he gave me it back. Now my computer has a virus and I want to reformat and reinstall windows but don't have the cd. I have the key is it possible to reinstall windows without the cd?

Just burn that to a disc and I should be good to go?

I never used the above method, but I burned a disc before which I got off the Internet, then used the phone-in method to Activate the key I had for a friend's laptop.

That worked in under ten minutes.
