BF4 Low FPS with my build.

Hello guys, I have question regarding "ideal" performance level for my build. According to Tom'sHardware it looks like my CPU can pull average 60 FPS on BF4 and my Graphics Card can pull even higher. But when I play BF4, my FPS fluctuates from 30 - 60 (because I capped my FPS to 60, thought it would be more stable since my monitor is only 60 Hz). My FPS average around 40 or lower especially when I am in larger rooms like 64 people.

Does this sound normal for my build? (my full build is at the bottom of this thread).

Please let me know how you guys think, more response the better!

Its not a very good build. You have a 2 core processor, and a mid range/low range GPU. Turn off Vysnc (frame capping as you call it), turn off anti-aliasing, and lower other key settings like ambient occlusion. Also you didn't mention what resolution you are attempting to run the game at which is also an important performance note.

youre gonna have to overclock your CPU, thats pretty much the whole point of that CPU. at stock it freaking sucks, but it turns into a little beast when you overclock to about 4.5GHz. Also the guy who said a 280x is low end is on drugs...

I said medium to low end, which it is. Don't mislead him, he is using a 2 core cpu, overclocking it to oblivion won't help, its an old, 2 core processor.

OP you need to turn settings down or upgrade, simple as that.

The low FPS is going to be from the CPU.

As for the GPU...considering it's in Tom's Enthusiast category, that would put it in the mid- to high range, not mid- to low-range. Given his CPU, it's being throttled severely. Going to an i5-4690 will alleviate a lot of that problem -- or, if you really want to OC it, get a 4670K.

its not old at all, it JUST came out :/ and a 280x is a mid/high end GPU there is no Low! a 270x would be a good example of a low/mid range GPU. Simply overclock the CPU! or replace it with an i5 4690 if you dont want to overclock.

Hey guys thanks for all the responses! I really appreciate it.

To clarify few things:
1. I am running on the highest resolution 1080p (i forgot the first number it was like 1200s x 1080)
2. My CPU is OC'd at 4.4 ghz

I guess based on what everyone was saying, I might have to replace my CPU huh... Any recommendation besides i5-4690 or 4670K? Not saying it is bad, just want to hear more recommendations!

Thanks everyone!

that processor is dual core. you need a quad core processor to play any modern game. there are tons of quad core intel processors that use the 1150 socket, you need one

Hey guys. So going back to whole dual core, I found this bench mark between G3258 vs Corei7 4790K. with GTX 750 Ti. (I don't know how much better the GTX 750 Ti is than mine but...)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUlS5Q7tEJI

So the benchmark is doing campaign, not multi-player, but still, this guy is running the game on High settings and he is getting stable 60 FPS. And I don't think I'm getting that stable FPS when I'm playing campaign either.

Maybe change my resolution to 900p as this guys is playing on it? Or do you guys think it's really the core issue? Should I OC my CPU from 4.4 to 4.5? and GPU?

Let me know how you guys think. Thanks!

the 750Ti is weak compared to the 280x, replace your cpu with an i5 4690k and the bottleneck will be gone.
