So I recently bought and installed a..

Motherboard: Z97-GD65 gaming
and
Processor: Intel i7-4790

I installed it into my computer, tried turning it on and it starts up just fine but when it gets to loading windows with the little swirly thing it stops and goes to the blue screen saying "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.." Yada yada

It did not do this before when I didn't have those two new parts... Before I installed these new Intel parts I had the..
Motherboard: 970A-G46
And
Processor: AMD FX-8320
And it did not ever have the blue screen on startup.

SO I havnt any idea what the problem is... Maybe something on my computer isn't compatible with these 2 new Intel parts? Or something like maybe I have to switch up some settings in the bios? What is causing this?

Please help. Thankyou

Not true. Windows 7 will have most of the drivers he needs already. He probably just needs to change his SATA type in the bios to AHCI or IDE to match the way the drive had Windows originally installed.

i agree with dexter and kane. i went from amd to intel recently and was hoping to just move the hdd over without having to reinstall. unfortunately, i got blue screen errors when it was loading windows, and would restart itself. after installing windows fresh, everything was fine.
