Hi guys,

ASROCK Z77 extreme 6 mobo
I7 sandy bridge 1150 " 3,4Ghz
Corsair 600W PSU
8GB Kingston RAM
1TB WD SATA HDD
ATI Radeon HD6800 video card

Bit of a problem here. My system worked fine, untill last sunday, when I had Catalyst telling me it's time to upgrade drivers. Ofcourse, I do so. Next thing you know, during installation my screen goes white and freezes (Keyboard lights didnt respond, froze for over10 minutes, after which I rebooted the PC in panic)

Upon rebooting, the screen displayed weird blue vertical lines at first, after which a BSOD set in, saying "attempting to reset display driver and recover from timeout failed", continueing to reboot infinately.

Now, eversince I have not gotten my videocard to work. I figured out that I had to go through this step by step, so:

Took out the VGA cable from the DVI slot and checked to see mobo graphics worked: Check, they did.

Rerolled the AMD drivers to last version to no avail.

Did a complete uninstall with UDD.

Cleared CMOS

Then, things got a little better, but still it's not working. When I have my GPU plugged in (With the 6x connectors in mind you), the PC boots, no more BSOD's, but there is no display. I heard Windows booting up, but I couldn't see it.

After this I got frustrated and decided to completely reinstall Windows with a format C: to rule out any software-related issues. But still, my monitor only says "No display" when I have the vidcard properly connected.

Tried:

Checking my RAM sticks one by one (didn't work)
Completely unplugged and reinstalled my system (didn't work)

I am afraid that my GPU simply...died :(

Do you guys have any other idea's that might work? I'm scared that my only option now is to cough up some 200 euros to get me a new card. Thanks in advance!

Alas then, I feared so. Thanks, will look to get me new card asap. Any suggestions in the 150-250$ range?
