I noticed in notebookcheck.net that the relatively low-quality GeForce 840m can run DAI at 51fps on medium at 1024x768 or 35 fps on low at 1366x768.

I want to find out if it's possible to do this for a machine that's under $700. However, when I look at the computer that was used for this benchmark it's not a machine I can find anywhere online:

Terra Mobile 1774P
Intel Core i7 4712MQ 2.3GHz
GeForce 840M (1029-1124 MHz), 2048 MB (1000 MHz) DDR3, ForceWare344.75
16 GB RAM

I already have a desktop at home that can do 1920x1080 on ultra just fine, so I don't need to get a fantastic graphics experience out of the laptop, I'd just like to be able to play the game elsewhere.

I'm giving this a serious look, but the processor looks a little skimpy to me to compare to the 'Terra Mobile 1774P':

$645- Acer Aspire V3-572G-54S6 Gaming Laptop - 15.6" WLED Backlit Screen, 4th Gen Intel Core i5-4210U (1.70GHz), 8GB DDR3L Memory, 1TB HDD, 2GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 840M
Graphics, Windows 8.1

I've also searched for machines with comparable GPU's like the 750m, but no dice. What do you think?

Solution
I have always found that the entry point for decent gaming is about $850....the hard part is finding one which the vendor didn't stick ya with 1 or 2 low end components (like a 5400 rpm HD) to bring the cost down to an attractive price point. To prevent that, I suggest spec'ing out ya own starting out w/ a Clevo chassis.

look here:

$920ish - http://www.lpc-digital.com/sager-np6658.html
$870ish - http://www.lpc-digital.com/sager-np4658.html

Looking at the above, ya get a helluva lot more for ya $30
