Hello, so i have an hp computer (hp slimline s5000) and basically, i wanted to know if it's possible to unplug the original hard disk installed then put another one, install windows to check the pc performance with a clean windows install, then when im done unplug the 2nd hdd and plug the original hdd back in, will i keep all settings and data?
will i be able to put the 2nd back on when i please to? or i shouldn't do that?
I hope you can help me and give me some advice, thanks in advance.

Also i would like to do this to test another Operative Systems like ubuntu, newer windows (i currently have windows 7 ultimate 64 xp1)

Solution
Yes, it's possible to do that and the hardware should not notice a change, so it should all boot right back up, provided you don't make BIOS changes that prevent that.
