Titan Black is more than an overkill for video editing. Video editing does not benefit from a video card as much as it benefits from a better processor. It is a waste of money if you ask me. Get a nice 5960x with a good cooler+overclock with 64 gbs of RAM and a Titan Black and forget about everything else. SLI is a waste of time and money for video editing.

That cooler is pretty good. I would either go with that one, be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3 or a Cryorig R1 Ultimate (I have the ultimate and it is top of the top performance/price wise). I would double the RAM that you have. Make it 64 GBs.
I notice that the 5960X is quad channel, so will there be a significant loss if using 8 sticks of 8? And to be clear, he would see little to no difference from having a single Titan?
