Okay, I don't know a lot about computers. I'm trying to run Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on my PC. On every single game I play, I get bad FPS. I'm tired of it. I'm looking at playing Depth, but canyourunit.com says I need more dedicated video RAM. Well, I saw that you can do that through BIOS, but I don't have BIOS, I have UEFI. There's no option to do that with UEFI.
My question is, how do I fix my FPS issues without buying anything new? Please, please help.
EDIT: forgot to mention, I have 32MB dedicated, but I have a possible 1664MB. I only need 512 for both games.

If you have a dedicated graphics card you cant just upgrade the vram, you have t buy a whole new video card. Some integrated cards will allow you to adjust the shared memory(takes from available system ram), with other integrated cards this is done automatically and you will have no option to change this.

I'm not asking about upgrading the VRAM, I'm asking how to dedicate the rest of the 1632MB of VRAM that I already had.

Well, like I said, I'm new to computers, so I haven't got a good one. Intel HD Graphics?

Is this a laptop or a desktop?

Your graphics processor is the one built into the Intel chip, so for its graphics memory it (mainly) shares the system RAM. According to how Microsoft reports graphics memory, your computer has 32 MB of dedicated memory, as in discrete, separate from your system RAM, memory chips for graphics. This is only a small amount, so for the bulk of the graphics processing it uses (in your case) an extra 1632 MB of system RAM for graphics performance.

So you can't increase that 32 MB, because it's real hardware on the board.

This can lead to an issue with some software or games that are poorly written to only look at dedicated graphics before deciding if they'll run or not - they see only the 32 MB, not the actual 1664 MB. This is what canyourunit.com is doing. If you come across a game that does this and refuses to run as a result, it requires either a patch or a software hack.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 requires 256 MB graphics memory, yet you're running it, correct? So it's accessing more than the 32 MB.

So as far as bad FPS goes, it's not the dedicated memory that's the problem. Post up the exact model of computer that you have and people can advise on whether you should be expecting good FPS or not for those games. Simple things to try include updating graphics drivers, updating the game and making sure you don't have lots of rubbish running in the background.

Okay, thanks for your help. I've been able to run BFBC2 but with around 20 FPS after going into the system files and changing stuff. So, what should I upgrade to be able to run ARMA 2? That's my main concern ATM. I can run it around 20 FPS with all the graphics on very low and the 3D resolution down. I just want to run it with decent FPS and good graphics. I hope that if I upgrade whatever I need to, I can run DayZ Standalone.

If you have a laptop there is nothing you can do, if you have a desktop install a video card thats better than the onboard.
