Computer Crashing (Can't Designate Issue) [BCCode 0x124]

Recently, my computer has been crashing and automatically restarting. I've tried several things to fix this problem, but nothing seems to work.

The problem is a crash with the BCCode 0x124, originating from hal.dll. This indicates a hardware malfunction, but I don't know what exactly.

The crashes happen more frequently when I attempt playing games, it seems.

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the graphic drivers. I have tested my RAM. I have performed a disk check.

I think it has something to do with my PSU or GPU at this point.

I have used HWMonitor, and these are my values:

+3.3 V
Min: 3.296 V
Max: 3.312 V
+12 V
Min: 9.680 V
Max: 9.768 V

That means a faulty, overclocked , overheating CPU. It can also mean a faulty core on the CPU. Or a buggy BIOS

Update the BIOS in the BIOS. NOT in Windows. Sometimes this fixes this stop error

I haven't overclocked my CPU. I can't imagine how I would have done it accidentally, but if SOMEHOW it has been overclocked, how do I fix that problem? And, heat shouldn't be the problem. My cooling fan keeps it at around 40 c at max. I recently cleaned the fan, as it WAS getting up to around 50 c.

Maybe a buggy BIOS then update the BIOS, in the BIOS

Then upload the dmp files somewhere then post the link

M-Flash in my BIOS is how I update them, correct? I have an MSI motherboard.

Also, I'm starting to think it's not my GPU, as my computer has begun crashing before I even log in...

I've never had MSI mobos. Only ASUS mobos. But if you can use m flash in the BIOS then do it in the BIOS

Is anything wrong with my power consumption? What do I have to look for in order to determine a faulty PSU?

I've noticed that in HWMonitor, whilst just browsing the internet (because my computer crashes when I play games, but stays running for a (usually) extended period of time whilst just surfing,) that my GPU "Utilization" can shoot up to 95% usage. I don't know what this means.

Have no idea. I dont use any programs like Hwmonitor or any programs to OC with, or monitoring programs

I just assemble / install what I need / like drivers etc / update / use it

What does the BIOS monitoring report for the +12V rail? Actually go into the BIOS Setup and read the system voltages. If your system were really reporting +9.680V to +9.768V it wouldn't even be functioning.

HWMonitor is useless on some systems because it has no idea how to properly interpret the signals from the motherboard's sensor chip.

MSI BIOS are update through a program called "Live Update". Once I've downloaded and installed them through Windows, I can't do it again...

Well if you can do it in the BIOS do it in the BIOS. Updating it in windows can be risky. If it freezes and you turn it off, it'll brick your system
