I recently bought a new graphics card but because my PSU did not have enough wires I bought a new one at the suggestion of someone on this forum. After I got my new PSU all hooked up I tried turning on my computer with the cover off to see if all the fans were running and everything. Almost immediately one of the diodes next to a capacitor sparked and caught fire (a couple inches from the 24 pin connector). As quickly as I could, I unplugged the power from the back of the computer. Its now melted but not any of the actual motherboard just the diode. The reason I made this thread is because I was wondering if I can still use this motherboard (probably not, I know this is a stretch) and if not I would like help picking out a new one. I need to make sure its compatible with what I have right now. I don't really need to upgrade my mobo just need a replacement that will keep doing what my old one has been doing.

I can upload pictures of it from my phone if you guys want. Just need to figure out how to do it.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I would RMA the MB to the manufacturer. If you want to replace the board, I'd go with this MB: GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3

It will fit right into your case.

And when the RMA'd board comes back you can sell it or use it for another build. At the link for your comp, it didn't say much for or about the MB. It couldn't have been much with only one PCIe x16 slot.
