my laptop is not going to BIOS, just a few blue lights stay on the keyboard. so i read it might be the RAM and try moving it.

OK, i moved it and then the laptop started. but then when i shut it off, it will not start again.

it does "RE-start" when it is already on!

what do you think is going on here? thanks.

UPDATE:

i found out that a lot of them really need 130 watt charger / adapters, not the usual 65 or 90. i believe this also applies to E6400 and possibly other models.

second finding: believe it or not, the webcam software will also cause these problems ! so if you don't have a webcam, or don't use it, uninstall all webcam software.

best wishes to all,

i've been playing with it some more, now it seems it WILL start IF it is not plugged in.

is there something about being plugged in that would stop it from starting?

in other words, if it's just on battery it will start.

wow, thats super weird...does it charge while plugged in and off?
