Temporary freeze at startup

Hello, everybody!
I have a problem where every time I boot up my computer, it freezes at the screen shown below for a short period of time.
windows-7-locked.jpg

If I attempt to type in my password during this freeze, then when it unfreezes a string of random letters is entered. So for example, if I type a single character, then it'll end up repeating itself until it fills the password box.

I know this isn't a hardware problem, as if I start up in safe mode, then there is NO lag at all. I've also disabled all of the startup programs in MSCONFIG and CCleaner (except Chrome and Kaspersky, since they keep reenabling themselves).

Does anyone know what's causing this, and how I would be able to fix this?

Lots of thanks.

You probably just a bad virus, just run combofix in safe mode then use your regular AV then you should have your problem fixed. Also you will need to disable your AV in safe mode when you run combofix. If you don't know how to disable your AV I think this is the guide here http://support.kaspersky.com/us/6596 If that fails enable your av again, boot into safe mode then run roguekiller don't run roguekiller before combofix. Then once you run roguekiller in safe mode boot up normally and try to log in, after run your AV and it should find the problem.

That didn't do it :(
And I realized that the problem DID occur in booting in Safe Mode, but the duration's a lot shorter.

My RAM has a high speed that isn't supported by the CPU, so I set the profile to XMP in the BIOS, and that did the trick. Could this be a side-effect?
