Why can't I enable my XMP profile on my Asus P8B75-v?

Hi!

I recently built up a new pc and I have problems with enabling the RAM's XMP. I know this has been questioned many times but since I didnt't find a solution I'll post this one last time.
So I have a 2x4gb Corsair 2133MHz kit. And it is running at 1333Mhz default. I can manually set it to 1600Mhz but not above. My motherboard is an Asus P8B75-V and my CPU is an i5 3470. I updated bios, put the sticks to other slots, still nothing. However I found this in my motherboard's manual:

4x DIMM, max. 32GB, DDR3 2200(O.C.)/2133(O.C.)/2000(O.C.)/1866(O.C.)/1600/1333/1066 MHz, non-ECC, un-buffered memory Dual channel memory architecture
Supports Intel Extreme Memory Profile (XMP)
*DDr3 1600MHz and higher memory freq is supported by Intel 3rd generation processors.
Due to the CPU behavior, DDR3 2133/1866 Memory module will run at DDR3 2000/1800 MHz frequency as default.

Now I am a bit confused. This means I can only run at 2133 MHz if I overclock my processor???

Thanks

Solution
You will need to OC the CPU some to reach the higher speeds. The memory controller is in the CPU.

EDIT:
If you don't have a "K" model CPU, you may be out of luck. I ran into thes ame problem with my i7 3770. The highest speed I can run is 1866MHz. But that's OK. I am really happy with with my 1866MHz 2x8GB kit. With a GTX 970, my comp shreds games to pieces.
