Belkin N Wireless Adapter not working at all

My wireless adapter was working fine on my Windows XP SP3 PC for some time, yet recently has not turned on. The blue light has not turned on, and I thought uninstalling the driver would work. Now the driver will not install, as it cannot detect the USB Adapter after it says to plug it in.

What happen if you install the adapter in another rig with different OS?

I do not have another computer to test this with, so I don't know.
The driver now installs properly, yet the device still will not do anything.

If you can't test it in another rig I would agree with reedo_43 and guess that device went bad.
