XFX HD 7970 black screen

Hello,

I have a problem.

My XFX HD 7970 which i just bought and swapped in for a R7 250 wont show a thing when the PC is turned on. What happens:

- PC on, 7970 also turns on (i can hear and see the fans do their thing)
- Nothing but a black screen, but pc boots all the way (im sure because of the time difference on shutting it down in windows and pre-windows).

By the way, the screens dont say 'check signal cable' so it responds. Also when the R7 250 is in it everything works fine.

Whats wrong?!

I have;

P5GC-MX/1333
Core 2 duo e6800
Corsair hx520 (6 & 8 pin installed, thats not it)
4gb ram

Im still.upgrading, thats why it looks so weird.

I got it second hand from a friend but it worked fine when i checked it at his place. Nothing i did wrong, was static-free every time, was packed up, didnt fall etc. Dont know why this is happening!

Are you connecting via HDMI, DVI, or Mini-Display port?
My one will only display an image if I connect via the first DVI port if I'm using DVI, or the first HDMI port if I'm connecting by HDMI.

Oh, while you're here - if the system crashes and the screen goes blank and all the fans on the graphics card speed up to 100%, is that an issue with the graphics card or the power supply?

I don't have a spare unfortunately, I've had to replace the majority of the parts in my computer, but the graphics card, RAM, and power supply are the 3 remaining. I may end up just replacing all 3 anyway.
