Hello everyone! As always thanks for stopping in to help. I just finished loading my operating system, optimizing my drives, and installing all my favorite programs and games. I would like to play around with overclocking but I am mostly concerned with making sure my system is running well and cool when I multitask heavily. My setup is as follows:

  • ■ Gigabyte F2A55xn-Wifi
    ■ A10-6790
    ■ Cooler Master Vortex Cooler■ 8GB Corsair Vengeance
    ■ 120GB Kingston SSD
    ■ 750GB WD Black HDD
    ■ Asus DirectCU II R9 270
    ■ 80+ 550w Power Supply
    ■ Win 7 Ult. 64bit

My usual workload consists of this:

  • ■ 8-12 Tabs open in chrome
    ■ Pandora or Spotify Streaming
    ■ League, Hearthstone, or Ygopro
    ■ A variety of data transfer projects

Not a whole lot but I would still like to optimize and monitor my system properly. So any hardware or software advice would be greatly appreciated.

Solution
CPU-Z and GPU-Z for voltages and clock speeds. Core Temp and afterburner for temps (afterburner is also used to OC the GPU). Stress tests, I haven't stress tested my GPU (very aggressive boost settings instead), but generally before I used Crysis 3, fur mark, and Unigine Heaven along with 3Dmark to bench it. For CPU Intel burn test.

I am asking for any and all input on how I should setup, monitor, maintain a healthy overclock starting with my software testing and monitoring needs as well as healthy practices and habits for routinely checking system performance. Awesome, so to monitor temps I can go CPU/GPU Z, how about stress tests, not just prime95, but all sorts of stress testing. I asked a vague question so I would receive all sorts of answers.
