More about newly built xbox ps4
  1. That build will crap on any console.
  2. Yes, but your Graphics Card isnt a GPU. I think you mistyped. The RAM is stupidly overkill tho and you could've saved a lot of money by getting 16 GB
  3. lol you can't be serious... You PC is 10x better than the consoles.
  4. Aside from spending twice as much as you needed, yes.
  5. Some folks just like to pat their own back it seems.

Yup ... looks to me like $1,200 worth of gaming PC and $1,200 worth of overkill.
  8. Are you suffering from buyers remorse, LOL? If you have to ask this question where did you get the money to get this rig?

Lets see the Sony PS4 specs are a little better then the MS XBOX One, and they have:
AMD APU with dual quad core modules running at 1.6Ghz+, with each quad core module packing 2MB of L2 cache. You are running a Intel i7-5930K Haswell E Hex Core (6) CPU with built in quad memory controller running stock at 3.5Ghz which you OC's to 4.2Ghz. It has 15Mbs of Intel smart cache. I don't know but I'm guessing you got the edge here.

For Graphics the AMD APU has a basically a AMD's 7870 GPU, with 2 CUs disabled built into it. So it's less then a R9-270x. You got a two of the GTX 980s in an SLI. The GTX 980 is the fastest single GPU card on the planet, so again I say yours is probably better.

There feel better or is this just "I want a pat on the back" exercise, lol.
  9. A console the same price as your computer would wreck your computer beyond reason. Problem is that developing anything like that would send any company spiralling to bankruptcy. There is no need to brag about your computer which, by the way, is already outdated.

I use the excess ram for editing and rendering.. For a gamer it would be useless, for me it serves a purpose.

I got the money from my job. And it's a sort of pat on the back thread. I wanted to prove to a friend who is insistent that the ps4 cannot be beaten from the feedback from the replies when I link this to him.

    1. I can afford it.
    2. I need the excess stuff that a gamer would deem overkill for editing/rendering. Gaming pc's aren't the only form of computer in the world you know.

Or like to ask other pc gamers where the specs stand performance wise so I can link all this to a friend who is insistent the ps4 is pretty much the most powerful gaming machine on the planet...

Seeing as you are comparing to consoles, and absent any other info, the obvious conclusion would be a gaming PC.

Or to send this thread link to a friend who is very convinced the ps4 cannot be beaten. Hoping for a little peer revision for confirmation so he doesn't think I'm just saying that without validity.

I don't just game, I am well aware 8 gig is adequate and 16 is still not being harnessed yet.. But I also do video/photo editing and 3D design/rendering... I need that extra ram.

I also do editing/rendering. Excess ram isn't excess when you actually need it for something outside of gaming.

The only advantage a console would have is you and your friends can play in a group together without them having to BYOC and some games aren't available on PC. Another console con I don't think you could do your job on a console. It's like comparing a spaceship to a sailboat.

I merely asked where it stood against consoles. I never stated it was exclusively for gaming.
  20. OK, whatever. You have a killer PC.

I will try to make the most of it before I inevitably need to buy another one.
  22. To everyone here, I know it is better. I am just very petty and wanted to hear from others to show to someone else who insists the ps4 is some kind of unbeatable, graphical masterpiece gaming machine. Thank you all for your feedback, it is helpful and puts it beyond a reasonable doubt where it stands.
My apologies if this question comes across as a rhetorical question/ego trip.. Which it partly was. But mostly for peer revision than self gratification.

Oh darn, I'll just have to buy an even newer one.

If you buddy thinks the PS4 is better he must be a Tea Party GOP wing nut. News flash for him the world isn't flat.
  25. As soon as I saw GTX 980 and i7 - I knew you were trying to show off. ;)
That's a brilliant build, and yes - that is WAY better than an Xbox One or PS4.

Dual GTX980s in a SLI setup, lol

    Yeah, I know.
But I said as soon as I saw '980' and 'i7', it was straight away better.

    Nobody can deny! :heink:
