I need to recover files from a hard drive that is not booting into windows, not even allowing startup repair to run, ect.
When I use live bootable media to copy files to an external hard drive that is properly formatted to NTFS, they are present, but when using Mini XP in hiren's I receive "access denied."
When I use ubuntu live, the files are again present, but when I try to copy the files, I get "i/o error"
I really, really need to find a way to take these files off this hard drive, but I keep running into problems every single time. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the password protection, but I have the password
