Will my old psu work with a new motherboard?

Solution
Are you building a Haswell CPU computer? If so, you need a Haswell compatible PSU in order to comply with some of the requirements of the new CPU. If not, it should work fine. 700 watts is a lot of power. The power required is mostly dependent upon the graphics card power requirements and also whether any overclocking is done on the CPU.

Posting the computer specs will help.

Thanks... Well:
CPU: i5 4460 or 4690
MOBO: Asus h87m-PRO
GPU: GTX760 maybe later (so for sure 500+)
PLUS: ram, some fans, hdd or ssd, DVD-RW, usb devices and 2.1 speakers I guess... :/
*Not overclocking anything...

Haswell requires a 'Haswell ready' PSU in order to deal with some of the sleep states of the CPU. Don't utilize the sleep or hibernate functions of the CPU, and the PSU you have now (700 watts Thermaltake) will work fine.

Aha alright... and if I want to buy a new PSU in the future to have all those features... how many WATTS should it be? Also, is any problem to just change the PSU?

For the GTX 760 you will need a minimum system power of 500 watts (good brand PSU) - when you are thinking of buying a new PSU, this one will work great - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207013 (currently on promo). Until then, use the one you have now.

DVD-RW drives are inexpensive; about $20 each. Not a big issue if they install a new one. Go ahead.

This is what you chose - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131994 - It has good features and good customer feedback reviews. Good price too.

Newer Asus motherboards are these - http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=Asus+h87m-PRO&N=-1&isNodeId=1 (both micro ATX).

Regarding the CPU, the i5 4690 is 3.5 GHz (slightly faster than the i5 4460 (either one will work fine).

Because I don't want to create a new thread I would appreciate it if you reply here guyes:
Do I really need that chipset? I really dont know what chipset to choose... Actually I generally don't know what motherboard to buy... As I'm reading more and more about MOTHERBOARDS it makes it harder to choose... Are all brands good? What is that EPU around the socket, Do I need it ? Should I get an H97 ? HELP!!!

Post your new build in a new thread under new builds. Answer all the preliminary questions like budget, main purpose of computer, etc. - You will get a lot more responses. And yes, you are right about reading about motherboards.

A new thread is necessary.
