Hello, thank you for reading this. Basically, I'm having issues with my current windows phone 8.1. I might send it in for repair/replacement with the warranty, but I'd like to know if it will be like a totally new phone or if I can import settings/apps/texts/start menu to a new phone using a Microsoft account. I know that you can create a backup to use once the phone is factory reset, but is there a way to do this same thing with a new phone? Thanks in advance..

Yes!
You can backup your entire phone to the cloud.

I used this feature when I switched from an HTX 8x to a nokia 925. When I signed into my account and installed my phone backup, it saved EVERYTHING. Everything... contacts, photos, settings, right on down to tile colors and placement.
