Problem connecting my newly built computer to the internet.

Hello everyone

I was hoping someone here could help me.

I have just finished assembling my first computer and installed the operating system. (Which took it’s time, but when it was done I had a great feeling.) However I have come across a problem and that is that I can’t get the pc to connect to the internet. The computer can’t find any network to connect to. I just get the information: “Windows cannot find any networks”. Which I find very weird.

When I look at the LEDs on my motherboards Ethernet port they all light up when the cable is plugged in, the same is the case with the router. Also I have no problem connecting to the router with my laptops or tablet, works fine with cable and with wireless, so I can’t see why there should be a problem with my new computer.

If anyone could help me with this it would be much appreciated.

This is the system I’m running:
Motherboard: Asus Maximus VII Hero
CPU: Intel i7 - 4790K
Operating system: Windows Vista 64 Bit Home Premium
Video card: Asus GTX 970 Strix
Ram: 16GB HyperX Beast DDR3-1600
SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB
HDD: WD 1TB Black

Well I tried to install the drivers that came with the motherboard. But when I put the CD in the drive and try to load the software I get this Error: “Motherboard Support CD does not support this operating system(WNT_6.0H_64_MCE.)”

When I take a look on the print on the CD, it says: Support Windows 8 and Windows 7.
And there is also a logo that says Windows 8.1 Ready.
Does the Asus Maximus VII Hero motherboard not support Windows Vista?

Unfortunately it didn't work. I tried installing the driver you recommended, but I get the error: “This product is not supported on this operating system. Aborting setup.”

I get the same result when I run it in Compatibility mode, with or without administrator rights.
Other ideas?
