How do you choose the right Z97 board?

It all depends on what kind of case size you want as well, are you going to do single gpu, sli/xfire, tri-sli/xfire. What resolution do you want to play at.. What storage.

I been hearing lots of good things on the ASRock Z97 Extreme6, you might take a look at that one.. if you want something more on the cheap you can go for ECS Z97-PK.
But I would recommend you to have a good quality board, its the base of a stable PC

Motherboard doens't get you more fps. They just have more features. I just look for a 4 dimm slot, SLI/Crossfire (If i am planing), Raid suppport (all of them). Then I find the cheapest buy and put more money for my GPU.

You shouldn't just buy the cheapest board, just becareful of RMA support. And if you're planning to to have more than 1 graphics card and be sure it's compatible with all the other parts you buy, better buy from one that is popular like Asus, Gigabyte, Asrock, MSI.
