How do I know which processors are compatible with my laptop?

So I bought an HP Envy 14t laptop for a pretty good price with a dedicated graphics card and everything, but the processor is slow as hell. Can I upgrade it and how do I find out which processors work? Also, will the dedicated graphics card be a problem? Like, could that somehow be attached to the processor or something? If you can't tell I suck with computers.

Many laptops, you can change the CPU.

But only within a very limited range.
What CPU's does the chipset support?
What TDP does it handle?

What change will you really see, because you can't change anything else (GPU).

The manual for the HP Envy 14 has a list of processors but I'm unsure if it means that they would all work with my comp. I would assume my laptop is under the umbrella that all Envy 14's are under, so the manual would seem to be relevant for my comp, but I'm not sure where to find a specific list of processors or a specific manual for my specific model, because I can only find one for the 14, but not the 14t.

Since that pdf lists processors from a Pentium P6000 to a i7-840QM, I can assure you that they are NOT all compatible.

Suggest you contact HP to see exactly what is compatible with your particular serial number.
