Hey, I would like to know if there's something wrong with my cpu or if i just got unlucky in the purchase of it. I have an i7 4770k and a msi gd-65 gaming motherboard. When trying to overclock i have to use extreme voltages to acheive any kind of overclock. Right now i'm using 1.385v at a 4.3 ghz overclock. Please tell me if i got unlucky or if there's something wrong with my cpu or maybe the cpu/motherboard pins?

check the voltage in CPU Z is it drooping when the CPU is under load ?

coz at 1.25V ppl can reach and avg of 4.5~4.8 OC

i have a 3570K on a msi Z77 Mpower i have it runing 5GHZ @ 1.35 volts and when it is under load the Voltage drops to 1.32~

The voltage is raising to 1.4v when i run prime95. So it's not dropping.

also make sure u dont go above 1.4X+ volts u will kill your chip fast unless it is under water than just make sure it is under 1.45 volts

and if hyperthreading off dosnt change anything than will u just lost the silicon lottery

i tested 2 3570Ks on my motherboard one needed 1.385volts to run 4.6GHZ and at that point it was running above 80C

the 2nd on that im using needs only 1.32~1.35 volts to run 5ghz

PS: even at 4GHZ your CPU wont be bottleneck with any gpu conflagration at 1440P 1080P it can even run 4K with your current OC
so you really dont have to worry to much about it

Hyperthreading didn't make any difference, I'll just keep it at 4.1 with 1.265v 65c under full load, That's fine untill i get myself a new cpu
